It is a colorless to light yellow transparent liquid with unique aroma characteristics – the top note presents a sour and sweet feeling similar to hawthorn fruit and the fresh fruity aroma of strawberry, the middle note gradually permeates a soft floral background (such as the mixed scent of jasmine and lily of the valley), and the tail note has a warm sweet feeling. The overall aroma is rich and three-dimensional.
From the perspective of physical and chemical properties, its boiling point is about 265℃, the relative density at 20℃ is 1.095-1.100, the refractive index (n₂₀ᴅ) is 1.512-1.516, it is insoluble in water, and easily soluble in organic solvents such as ethanol and ether.
