The camphor tree has the highest natural D-borneol content (D-borneol). The oil in its leaves contains up to 2% of essential oil and over 85% D-borneol. D-borneol is also called natural borneol. It is a traditional Chinese medicine and a high grade spice. The crystal is native to Sumatra Islands in Indonesia, and it is extracted from camphor tree resin. My country does not have any camphor trees and relies on the importation of natural borneol. The import volume is low and the price very high.
The Chinese Pharmacopoeia 2005 includes Borneol Oil , a volatile oil that is obtained from steam distillation. The book “Ming Yi Bie Lu”, describes borneol as a crystalline natural compound that is precipitated from the camphor tree Dryoba Lanopsaromatica Gaertn.f. Camphoraceae. Sublimate the resin by steam distillation. After cooling, crystallize the pieces. Medical research has shown that borneol is anti-inflammatory, analgesic and antibacterial.
