Muscalure is an olefin compound class with a specific biological activity. Their molecular structure, which is classified chemically as unsaturated hydrocarbons and has double carbon-carbon bonds at its core, is what gives them their chemical properties. They are usually liquids because they have a molecular mass of around 2,000, which is a good amount. These compounds also have a moderate density, and are lipid-soluble to a certain extent. This allows them to dissolve in various organic solvents. The unique molecular structure of these molecules imparts a degree of volatility that allows them to diffuse slowly and form a chemical signal field.
Muscalure has a relatively high chemical stability under normal storage conditions. It is also not susceptible to spontaneous decomposition.
