1. Moisturize your skin
Skip the expensive lotions and opt for pure coconut oil as an effective moisturizer. Simply massage a small amount directly into your skin, but skip any oily areas (in fact, acne sufferers should skip this altogether). Coconut oil keeps anything unwanted at bay thanks to its antibacterial properties and has also been shown to help treat eczema, athlete’s foot, psoriasis, and other skin conditions.

2. Body Scrub
Dead skin cells can build up and cause clogged pores, which can lead to scaly patches on your body. It’s simple, just stir up some pure coconut oil exfoliant. Mix half a cup of brown sugar or half a cup of sea salt with half a cup of coconut oil. Gently scrub your skin and rinse well. Use on your body once a week.
Take a dollop of coconut oil in your palms and rub for one minute. Pure coconut oil is good for your hair because it contains more saturated fats as well as vitamins K, E, and iron. You can use it as a conditioner. Simply melt 2 teaspoons of coconut oil in 1 cup of warm water and let cool. Pour over your hair and leave on for 30 minutes. Wash properly; otherwise, your hair will become greasy.

3. Dandruff Prevention and Treatment
If you have dandruff or a dry, itchy scalp, the highly moisturizing properties of pure coconut oil may solve the problem. Apply coconut oil to the scalp area and then comb through the rest of your hair. (If you need more lather, melt 2 tablespoons of coconut oil in a cup of warm water.) Next, cover your head with a shower cap and leave it on for a few minutes to allow the coconut oil to soak into your hair; then rinse thoroughly. This can replace the shampoo and conditioner you were using before.

4. Get a Healthier Smile
Oil swishing is an ancient remedy that is said to help treat or even prevent a range of oral conditions, such as bacteria, bad breath, bleeding gums, tooth decay, and more. While oil swishing has not been proven to be 100% effective, it won’t hurt anyone. Coconut oil has anti-inflammatory and antibacterial properties. So, it may work.

Use 1 tablespoon of organic coconut oil and swish it in your mouth for 15 to 20 minutes (if you can’t last that long, try increasing the amount slightly every few days). Don’t swallow it! Once you are done, spit it into the trash and rinse it off with water (try not to spit in the toilet or sink as this can cause oil to build up and clog the drain). You can do this oil gargle daily or a few times a week.

Another way to make cuts and scrapes heal faster is to use pure coconut oil. Apply coconut oil to the affected area and then cover it with a bandage. Repeat the same process, changing the bandage as needed.

6. Carrier oil for massage
In fact, most massage oils are pure coconut oil based, so you can use it for home massages without having to spend a lot of money on branded oils. Simply melt it on the stove and let it cool before using.

Replace half a stick of butter with 1/2 cup of coconut oil, or better yet, replace 1 egg with 1 tablespoon of coconut oil. Note that coconut oil is not a healthy alternative to butter because it is high in saturated fat.
