Trichloroisocyanuric Acid (TCCA), with the chemical formula C3Cl3N3O3, is a chlorine-containing organic compound and a derivative of isocyanuric acid. Its molecular structure contains a trichloro-substituted triazine ring, which has high efficiency, broad spectrum and stable chlorine release ability. After dissolving in water, TCCA can gradually release hypochlorous acid (HOCl). This active chlorine component can destroy the protein and nucleic acid structure of bacteria and viruses, thereby exerting a strong disinfection, sterilization and bleaching effect. The effective chlorine content of TCCA can reach more than 90%, which is much higher than sodium hypochlorite and bleaching powder, and has a longer release time and better storage stability. In addition, it is weakly acidic in water and has a slow-release property. It is widely used in water treatment, textile printing and dyeing, industrial circulating cooling water and agricultural disinfection.
